Marc Marling
President
Marc Marling has worked in the shipping industry for over 25 years. He has firsthand experience in freight brokering and forwarding and later as a maritime attorney. Currently, Marc handles day-to-day business operations at Vanmarc Shipping and Global Marine Consulting.
Mr. Marling’s extensive career includes working as a Senior Executive at a US Flag Carrier, General Counsel at a very large international container carrier, and outside counsel to a state Port Authority. He has also served several years as a P&I Correspondent while practicing Maritime Law. Marc is a graduate of Widener University and Rutgers University School of Law and earned a Certificate in Chartering from SUNY Maritime College (Ft. Schuyler).
James Arnold
Director, Operations and Finance Services
James B. Arnold (Jim) has nearly 30 years of operational and financial leadership. Jim is an accomplished, creative business executive with a demonstrated history of working in the logistics and supply chain industry, as well as technology and telecommunications. He has expertise in private start-up, venture backed, and public companies, including NCR, AT&T, Cable & Wireless, Americold Logistics, CMA CGM (America) and XPO Logistics. Jim currently leads his own consulting company, Red Sky Advisors, serving the Logistics, Finance, Tradeshow, and Utility industries. Additionally, he is a partner with Corporate Thought Events. Jim’s background includes logistics operations, merger & acquisition due diligence and integration, venture and capital financing, profitability improvement, business development, as well as strategic and financial planning. In addition, he has a network of resources to assist in all business areas and functions. In 2010, he was recognized with the Virginia CFO Award for Large Private Companies. Jim has a strong educational background with a dual major BS from the Farmer School of Business at Miami University and a MS focused in Finance from The Johns Hopkins University – Carey Business School. Also, throughout Jim’s career, he has been active in the community. Jim has held leadership positions within Rotary, the Coalition for Hearing Education and Research (CHEAR), the Financial Executives Networking Group (FENG) and participated with several other non-profit organizations.Scott Holdsworth
Marine Operations Manager
Captain Scott Holdsworth holds a Master Unlimited License and has sailed on US Flag vessels extensively over his lengthy career. Captain Holdsworth plans cargo loading operations and manages the process from start to finish. As part of the cargo management operation, he manages the trucking and inland portion of our clients’ transportation requirements.
